Mary Bono Ko: Doctor of Physical Therapy, Credentialed in the McKenzie Method
Clinical Education:
Dr. Ko's journey into physical therapy began with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Scranton. During this time, she was fortunate to collaborate with professors on research and presentations at national conferences. This experience was pivotal, sparking her passion for neurodevelopment and neuroplasticity, and igniting a deep interest in working with pediatric patients and individuals experiencing pain. It also laid the groundwork for her commitment to evidence-based care through attentive research analysis.
Furthering her expertise, Dr. Ko earned a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College, graduating with honors. Her early dedication to specialized care led her to complete an additional certification in the assessment and treatment of pediatric patients. Dr. Ko then went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was also honored to present her case study at the New Jersey APTA conference.
Certifications:
In 2008, Dr. Ko became credentialed in the McKenzie Method (MDT). She was particularly drawn to this method due to its individualized assessment and treatment approach.
